Elif Tarakci

Elif was born in Istanbul and moved to london when she was 21.

She started to teach exercise in 1998 and now specialises on belly dance, pilates and yoga.

Her unique style is a mixture of turkish, gypsy (derives from growing up in gypsy neighbourhood in kasimpasa-Istanbul), egyptian and tribal.

She has been working with musicians like Mad Professor, Numan Elyer, Kocani Orchestra and Dr. cat. She also performed with her students at many Hubble Bubble events.

She works on creative side of belly dance and can fusion traditional with modern.

Her versatility, passion and friendly approach as a teacher puts her above most in London.



June 2005:

ITV as part of the opener of Champions league final in Istanbul.

July 2006:

she held the stage at the Rhythm Stick festival in Purcell Rooms.


she danced with Smadj and the SOS band in the Queen Elizabeth Hall.


Member of Dr. Cat experience band.

July 2008:

Group dance with four students at the Southbank Turkish Festival.
